Road trip to France - picture heavy

Saturday afternoon myself, Stupot67 and Smartbear headed down to Southern France on a road trip.

The first night was spent in Nimes

The next day we were meant to do the long drive down to Gap however as the weather was terrible there he chased the sunshine and headed for Nimes instead and 500 miles later..

Today we headed along the costal road around Cannes before heading to Monaco

With us and the cars now safely tucked up in Grasse. Tomorrow we will be heading for the mountains...

Now that looks more fun than a wet bank holiday in Cornwall. 8) Good to see you managed to park within the lines in a least one of those pics.

On top of the world... The hills above Grasse

The road to Verdon Gorge

Torrential rain and lighting can't dampen our spirits

Yesterday I had a little run around the Ardeche Gorge...

Today I moved to the French Alps which are whiter than normal due to an unusually heavy snowfall a week or so ago which has closed a few roads and peaks! None the less, what a place....

I didn't fancy carry on up this for another 1000 plus feet

So I stupidly took this road instead..

Paul, I thought you went with Stu and Rob, you lot had an argument ?

No mate, they couldn't keep up with the M power
We missed out on the Alps at the beginning of the trip due to bad weather. They went to Milau this morning as planned and headed north but I wanted to see the Alps so running solo for the last couple of days before heading home

Love the picture in the Gorge of the arch . Looks like you give the traction control a work out. are you on summer tyres?

Great pics, so jealous! That M looks utterly gorgeous Pastry, and great to see it being enjoyed in all conditions.

I am but the roads aren't that bad. Anything at height with the road snowed over are closed. Still a bit dicy in places though

Stayed in Gap last night and awoke to a glorious day and set out climbing out of the town bathed in sunshine

I spent the morning driving the N85 to Grenoble which really was spectacular and no amount of photos could do it justice

Found time this afternoon to visit Lake Geneva which was beautifully peaceful

Back home tomorrow :( where the car will be getting a damn good clean after nearly 3000 wonderful miles :driving:

Fantastic pics , i have stayed over in Grenoble & the scenery around & up to it is simply stunning , your trip really has fired me up to get down to the Pyrenees which is a area of France ive never visited , just a case of when & what in

It really does take your breath away and quite a surreal experience. 8)
Funny you should mention the Pyrenees as that could be next on my list and there are a couple of forum members down that way but my S54 will most definately be coming with me :D
