Road trip of Europe

We have family coming to visit next year on a round the world ticket from New Zealand. The Europe leg starts in Italy and ends at Heathrow, totalling 9 weeks. They want to see as much of Europe as possible but we're just trying to work out a bit of a route. Any suggestions of a good way to do it? At the moment we have a rough idea... Croatia, Austria, Czech, Germany, France, Monaco, Spain, Portugal, then flight up to Scotland and then down to London (we'll take them through the UK).

I really have no idea though so any thoughts would be good... also any things to keep in mind (toll costs etc)

Croatia, Austria

^^^insert Slovenia in here^^^

Up through the wine producing regions, a quick blast along the Italian coast and then head into the Triglav National Park for Bled, Bohinj and Kranjska Gora before continuing into Austria. Awesome country.
