Road Tax Refund

Would an ANPR camera pick up the reg of a car on a trailer and be clever enough to know it wasnt being driven on the road?

There must be a means of differentiating between the number plate of a trailer and that of the car it carries. My Westfield is SORNed so I take it to track days on a trailer. I've done this for several years and I've never received a NIP despite the rear plate of the Westy being as visible as that of the trailer.

well we've received the acknowledgement that we've sold the car...now waiting for the refund...

waste of postage if nothing else...
and the correct refund received in the post today...

so car sold 9th May, dvla notified very shortly after... refund received 28th May, so 3 weeks...

cheque in the bank tomorrow...

Update
Cars sold on 11 April

Still no f**king refund
:headbang:

Been out and about for the last few weeks so not had the time to deal with it.

It will be an interesting call to the DVLA on Monday.

Lets hope its recorded for 'Training Purposes'.

It will have to go under the category of dealing with a person who is pissed off about waiting 7 weeks for their money!!!! :x

that's terrible! Have you had the acknowledgement that you've sold the car through??

our new v5 turned up yesterday...

I received the DVLA confirmation of change of ownership over 3 weeks ago. :x

Would have been a good idea for them to pop a cheque in the same envelope. But this is a Government organisation remember. :headbang:

wish I could be a fly on the wall when you call tomorrow :P

Update.

Just phoned the DVLA.

Got through to an automated service telling me they we busy and effectively to 'f**k off and try later. :x

No queuing system , just cuts you off

Can this get any better!!!

What a surprise it would be busy at lunch time. The obvious is to have more operators at this time of the day or better still not be as incompetent in the 1st place.

i'd like to tax my car on and off on a monthly basis i.e. in June i probably won't use it so i'd like to SORN |it then re tax it back i July, I think it would be a night mare doing this
