just a quick one. are all z4 m's that have an 06 number plate in the higher road tax band?

cheers

If they are registered after 23rd January I think it's the higher rate, mine was registered 26th January!!! Doh!!

However I have been thinking about contacting the DVLA, here's the reason.......

I had a Datsun 240Z that was registered January 1st 1975, all 240Z's were 'built' in1969, apparently they didn't think they would sell so many so did them in one go, painted and ready to go, I got a letter of authentication from the classic Z register and as a result didn't have to pay road tax, eg pre 1973 build, my ///M says built January 2006, wondering if I can find out actual build date and see if the DVLA would accept and as a result get the lower RFL, you never know?

Just had a look at my ///M spec which a friend at Sytner got for me and my car had option 999, Dealer launch Car, so maybe it could qualify?

Any thoughts guys ?

see this is exactly what pees me off. the dvla website clearly states

* Band K includes cars that have a CO2 figure over 225g/km but were registered before 23 March 2006

K*
201-225 £260.00

so if i was you, i would be either sending a snotty email or ringing them!!!!!

Acoording to Parkers:

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/advice/road-tax-guide/archive/Guide-to-tax-changes/

Please note: All cars registered between March 2001 and March 2006 that produce more than 225g/km CO2, will temporarily join Band K in 2009 and 2010.

Darren Slone, when was yours registered, it must be after March 1st to be on an 06 plate?

I will have a look later on, maybe I have got my knickers in a twist, I was going from memory last night with a glass of brandy in my hand :)

by the look of the wording they are say Registered.... and not when the car was built... you must have been lucky with the datsun as it would have super-ceded all that malarky

I have only ever seen one 55 reg z4m... As above would have been a press/ launch car... But saving £200 odd on the rfl each year would be worth if finding one!

   Just checked my registration document and my car was registered 25th MARCH 2006, not January as I thought, build date is January 2006 though, I'm a muppett and apologise as such :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Note to self, keep off the drink and check facts thoroughly before posting, don't go from memory, it's not as good as it used to be :)

lol that extra 2 days registration costs you an extra £200 a year in road tax..... i guess most 06 plates are registered on that date :(

Yep, strange really as the E46 M3 has the same engine so some will have the lower rate, pre March 2006 and others, Registered after 23rd March will have the higher rate RFL :?

Once again sorry for any confusion I caused

I struck lucky with my Range Rover. I took delivery 1st March 2006. A couple of weeks within the date limit. :D Cheap to tax.
Not so lucky with the //M. June 2006. :(

Kev.

I got a plesant suprise, my 06 M was the lower bracket, cost me £265 or whatever it was, very happy, so mine must of been a very early one.

Then yours, mine #26 and another red one #27 are the only ones that have surfaced, the red ones were sneakily registered in USA before 23/3/06 but registered in the UK after, I wonder if yours is the same.

There's no 55 plate Z4M as far as I'm aware, I think the point was they were launched in the UK in June 06, so only the Press cars have the lower RFL

PM me the last bit of your VIN if you don't mind & I'll tell you (:
