Road Raged

I've just been road raged!
Up on a narrow road on the Northumberland/Durham border - I was second of two cars travelling in one direction and white van man travelling in the other direction was in a right old strop and had his Mr Angry head on - I was driving past him with two wheels in the mud (I was in the Land Rover) and he was mouthing obscenities - so I asked him if I should levitate!!!

Whoosh - the balloon went up and being a 68 year old devout coward a nipped off sharpish !
I watched him turn around and he began to chase me - he was going bonkers .
As I was in the car with my wife and one year old Granddaughter I was a bit concerned so my wife phoned the Cops!

After chasing me for five or more miles he turned off or had a coronary.
He can't have been a very good driver if he couldn't get past me in a ten year old Disco

Best thing to do is ignore them. I've had a fair few meetings with these types of idiots and it's not worth giving them the time of day. They're complete and utter dinosaurs who probably get beaten by their wives, so have to pretend to be manly when sitting inside a metal box.

I think this meat head was out for blood and I'm too old and wobbly for that sort of nonesense
Your right tho, I should have kept my trap shut.

The best ones are usually on the dual carriageway near me. I use it every day to commute. They've added a 40mph average speed zone for half of the 10 miles I drive on it. On the way home from work, it's 70mph until we hit the 40 zone and you always get one moron tailgating you, determined to get past you at all costs.

So I pull over, let them get on their way and then watch them slam on their brakes as they enter the 40mph zone. I then gradually slow, not even needing to brake, then chuck the cruise control on and watch as 99% of the time I sail past them, all whilst abiding by the law.

They usually do the straight ahead stare to avoid eye contact with the guy they've just tailgated a couple miles back

I used to give as good as I got if anyone played silly beggars but these days I never bite as one day the other person may have a axe on the passenger seat :?

I remember as a kid being with my dad in the car when we were on the receiving end of being cut up and getting verbal abuse. The next thing my dad high tailed it after the other person which became a full on chase, I distictly remember our Dolomite Sprint overtaking his Cortina and my dad performing a handbrake turn and hauling the other guy up. What the guy didn't know was my dad was an Advanced Police driving instructor

Tim.

Never pays to get involved with road ragers - you never know who is likely to step out the car :o

Having said that I did this once when I was about to reverse in to a parking place and some numpty pulled right up to my car and started gesticulating in a rude manner - I got out my car and walked back towards him to enquire what the problem was - I'm not particularly scary looking but in a situation such as this it does help to be 6'7" :D He looked like he was about to poo himself and began apologising :)

Still not a good idea though - he could have been a WWF wrestler
