RIP Project Marmite

Keyboard warriors aside, I enjoyed reading the regular build updates during the first year or so (despite hating the bloody thing) but since then it feels like Brad has lost his enthusiasm with it. I regret donating to be honest - should have given it to Macmillan.

I'm sure a new thread will appear once the weather warms up and son-of-Marmite comes to life
Please no. The last one was quite enough.
Just because the thread's there, OG, you're under no obligation to read it - or is it like one of those TV programs about benefit scroungers that you cant help but watch even though you know it's going to boil your piss? :P

Fair point Perry, just not my tasse de thé

Well hopefully we won't hear from El D now as Marmite was the thread he commented on the most.

It's one thing getting sarcastic comments from him towards Brad about his car, that's bad enough but why make personal comments about me for no reason?
Normally I'm shy and let these things go :| but he needed telling he's a dick because he is.

Hope we hear from Brad soon as it's the right thing for him to do to keep the forum updated.

Actually it is a shame...

Despite getting slagged from most members on a day basis Brad forged ahead and took all the criticism on the chin, and was funny and entertaining with is replies..he is a good lad..

I hope it does come to completion, because let's face it there is no way back for that car..

Finish it or scrap it....

As for the money raised ( was it about £1000? ) i think should have been the last money to be spent on the project..

the best moment.....everyone clubbing together in a bit of crowdfunding to get him going again.....i cant imagine rennlist or m5board etc doing that

props to the forum

Well I for one still want to see my name under that bonnet - passion and commitment should never be pounded into non-existence. Quite often the intent doesn't work out, but you have to do to learn, and who knows what Brad will create in the future ? Ugly motherfucker or not, the car should be finished - even if the launch vid ends with it flying off Beachy Head :D

It's pretty poor after the donation for it not to be finished. Hope that's not the case.

To be fair "RIP Project Marmite" is a fairly misleading thread title, Brad hasn't mentioned anything about terminating the project...that said, he hasn't actually said anything for a while.

Don't think the thread needed to be locked, it's a shame as it did document Brad's journey.

IIRC Brad recently completed a house purchase and said that getting the house sorted was going to take a lot of his time so he was putting the car project to bed for the winter and intended to get back on it in the spring.

If that's still the case and he picks it up again I'm sure that, if he asks them, the mods will unlock the thread so that he can continue adding updates.

Personally, I hope he finishes the project, not because I contributed, but because he put a lot of time and effort into it and it would be a real shame to see it abandoned without him realising his vision

I'm sure the mod's intention is to let the thread re-open if/when Brad has something to report. It was getting rather tedious watching the site moron triggering pages of irrelevant crap in the meantime.

 Whilst I'm not a fan of the end product, I'm also not a fan of "stance" but that doesn't mean I don't admire the effort that goes into achieving the end products.

He did say before that he had run out of money to throw at it with his house purchase and moving etc. we all know how expensive these things are.
Guys, I know you won't believe me but sometimes there's more important things in life than modding your p&j :D
I'm sure when he's got the spare money he will carry on.
Saying that, it wouldn't hurt for him to pop on here and show his pretty face every now and again.

(If he wants to stick one of his modelling photos on we wouldn't mind would we? )

Has anyone actually been told this has been scrapped?

Agree with you Jonny but we did feed the El Pitta. Noticed the car was on the BarryBoys website so probably someone off there with little to do with his life.
