A sad goodbye to 'Phil the Greek'.
Served his Queen well and deserves his rest.
Always loved his lack of diplomacy. Made him seem that little bit more human.
And of course, regardless of your political inclinations, he served his country with distinction in WW2.

Gave his entire adult life to supporting his wife serving our fine country as best he was able, in so many ways. Born into privilege and used it to serve others. RIP Sir I salute you. :(

RIP - was watching BBC News when the news broke and the announcer found it hard to hold back the tears and emotion in her voice :(

He was my favourite of the Royals. I loved the way he just said it as it was.

I reckon the best un-pc joke he told was at a guide dog training centre when he quipped "Did you know you can get eating dogs for the anorexic now ?"

RIP Prince Philip. War Hero.

One of the good things that came out of The Crown was an appreciation for Prince Philip life, his difficulties and how he found a path to serve our Queen and nation, we should all be grateful.

RIP His Royal Highness The Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh

I agree totally with your statement. I was always a bit sceptical until I was educated into the life of the royals. I for one would not wish to do it. No freedom and utter dedication to the role and the country.

RIP Although I am not a British subject, I loved his persona and influence in the world. Also, he was a car guy like us.

He told a World Wildlife Fund (WWF) meeting in 1986: "If it has got four legs and it is not a chair, if it has got two wings and flies but is not an aeroplane and if it swims and it is not a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it." Class. RIP Phil

Always a sad time when we loose a bastion and Philip really was.
Such a shame the mould was broken when they made him.
I wonder if our queen will stand down now ?
RIP sir
