Very sad news. By all accounts, a proper legend with an intriguing character and life story.

Has anybody read a good book about or by him that they can recommend?

I have this one on my shelf. It's very good, co-written by the man himself. I think I bought it early 90s so it's probably quite old now. Maybe there is a more up to date version or newer publication available now

Hold onto it. That book is where google has taken me but it's out of print and copies are selling for £20-£100 on eBay at the moment!

A real legend. Absolutely no bullsh@t and told it like he saw it. My brother met him at Barcelona a couple of years ago and said that he was really chatty with fans. RIP Niki
