Rim bolts for 108s - I need another!

I have taken my split rim 108s apart and they are going to be refurbished. But one (just one!) of the eighty rim bolts suffered at the hands of my little helper and had to be drilled out.

Any idea where I can get any spares? I tried my nuts and bolts guy who can usually get anything. Also the chaps who are doing my wheels. I'll try the dealer on Monday.

Failing that does anyone have a damaged 108

I've got a dozen or so new ones but unfortunately I'm in South Sudan and not back in UK until the 28th July. If you get no other response I will try and get Mrs J to find them in the garage (fairly certain where they are.......) and send you one.

Many thanks for your offer, stand by for 11 others to follow me.

Forum karma this is, I have just given away my unwanted ipod connector and declined the offer of postage

You gave away an iPod connector? I'd have swapped you for some bolts! ;)

Later this week I'm popping to my parents place to pick up my new rear 108, I lost five (YES FIVE) bolts in one rear wheel so it's being replaced.

By this weekend I'll know if this new wheel comes apart OK and with that, the remaining 15 bolts out of the wheel that's currently on my car will be spare.

I'm more than willing to send you one, but first, a question, how on earth did you successfully drill the bolt out? Mounted pillar drill?

I've drilled loads out. All you do is drill the top off the bolt using the internal 12 spline hole as the guide. Once the head is off, take the star out. That leaves a stud that can easily be extracted with an easy out tool or even mole grips to unsrew it. Only time I could not do it was when someone had spun a bolt inside the alloy.

BTW - I have a few spare bolts if one doesn't appear from someone.

CJ mine are in UK and I'm currently in South Sudan - if you could oblige would save me getting Mrs J to search through the garage.... :P

My bolts are/were so tight that we couldn't get them out for love nor money.

Not with grips, not sawing a groove into the top and getting it out with a screw driver, not welding a nut on.

This was my issue

They're so tight the head literally snapped off whilst trying to undo...

I can only assume someone in the past Loctited them in as I've pulled hundreds of bolts out and never had that sort of issue.
Just a bit of bad luck there :(

I guess so. Never had so much of a pain doing something in my life.

I have another 108 sitting infront of my desk right now, as long as this comes apart OK this weekend, I'll have about 10 bolts available within 2 weeks or so for whoever needs them.

Weirdest timing ever. I literally just PM'd him to say I'd send him a couple after the weekend when I take this new one apart.

I'm ashamed to say I need to resurrect this thread. After a further "incident" I remain one bolt short.

Can anyone help me out with a spare?

Many many thanks in advance
