In regards of gear box i would like the DCT. In regards with the over boost, whats the point in it?
So, eliminate manual models from your search
Add MSport to the 35i and start hunting :)

Gotta say in SPORT mode with DCT the 35i is pretty damn rapid.
+1
I gotta agree!

Will do, i think Msport is a must on any BMW, only exception is the SE. Right then autotrader etc etc etc here i come.

I guess that they dont hang around , I have just changed mine and I will admit to watching the dealers website just to see what they were going to retail it for for andf it hasnt shown up there , and my sister who has driven by the dealer a few times ( she lives close to it) said she cant see it on the forcourt so I guess they sold it within the space of 2 weeks

the reason why the 35is is holding its value its because its pretty rare and when they do come up for a reasonable price, dealers snap them up and add on the premium

This is what happened with mine, sold it on after 4 hours on autotrader for 27.5k to Sytner and they had it up for £32850. It was only on the website for a couple of days so I assume they sold it pretty quickly. The dealer told me he had an alert set up on autotrader and had bought the last 3 that had come up.

The 3.5is has an over boost capability that gives it around the same bhp as an M. With the DCT box it's slightly quicker to 60 on paper, although on a track it might be a different story.

I test drove one and really liked it, although bought an M in the end.

Prices will vary by mileage and options list etc, but expect to pay c20k for an early 3.5is with high-ish miles but a top spec list.

Thanks for that, not entirely sure what the over boost is, does the 35i not have this, and what is this? so there is no real difference in price so that's a good start.

Trying to decide what the BIG difference is between the two, i take it servicing is the same?

Would you rule out the 3.0 auto, not fussed about keeping it N/A.

did I see 3.0 auto, My last one was 3.0 auto but its slower than the manual like 6.0 secs v 5.7 secs for manual V 5.2 for 3.5S or 4.8 for the 3.5 Si.

The 2.8 is even quicker than a 3.0 auto and manual ok, its not straight 6 but hay cheaper insurance, road tax, petrol ( Im getting + 6mpg more) AND feaster than the 3.0. Then pop in a remap and add 60 BHP thats nipping at the 3.5S for way less cost.

Then there is the option to get a the 3.5s remap to the 3.5SI (shh dont rempap the 3.5si oh its been done already lol)
