Ridiculous long-shot for a sound generator mounting bracket

I bought a sound generator off Ebay to retrofit to my 2.2... I wasn't too surprised when it turned up without the mounting bracket (part number 13747518282) as I couldn't see it in the listings photo or description but I could see it was only a few quid online.

Now I've got a few other bits together (different intake boot, jubilee clips etc, thanks to another post on this forum) and come to actually order this particular part, the websites that happily allow me to 'add to cart' - as if it's in stock and ready to ship - are emailing me back and saying it's on 'indefinite backorder' or 'estimated in Q3 2025' which for all I know has been the case for years, with people still waiting!

I can see one available on Ebay.com but with shipping it's about £50. For a £4 part. :headbang:

Any chance a member removed their sound generator but still has the little bracket in place they could unbolt and flog to me?

My Plan B involves a mate's 3D printer, assuming the plastic is heat-resistant enough...

Thanks for reading!

Have you tried BMW? Pretty sure that's where my lad got his from a couple of years ago.

If you 3D print it, don't use PLA for anything under the hood. PETG or ABS should be fine.

Give quarry motors a bell and see if they have one.

Do you have a pic of what’s needed?

A single but high res pic is on the £50 ebay listing, with a digram to show it in context:

I know it's basically just a plastic tab for the tensioner to clip onto, will ask if my mate already has PETG or ABS plastic for the 3D printer and knock something out based on that photo I guess. As a stop-gap anyway!

Thanks ed80 also for the heads up on Quarry Motors - they were very helpful but I was a little too late, but will definitely come in handing in the future I'm sure
