I am trying to work out what suspension setup to go with for my si coupe sport, the eibach kit suggests a 20-30mm ride drop but doesn't really make clear whether that is on an se or a sport i don't really want to lower my car (don't mind up to 10mm) but do want new shocks (pretty sure they are well past their best) and springs.
the eibach/bilstein option seems to be the way to go from what i have read on here, eibach/konis (these offer some adjustment) are also an option but for all of these shock choices seem to depend on springs/if you have lowering springs without actually referencing if these apply to se or sport (se is 20mm higher than sport??)
the conclusion i drew is that if i could get comparative ride heights it might help to work out whether the eibach spring options are 30mm drop over se (10mm on sport assuming 20mm is the difference between se and sport) or 30mm over sport (too low for what i want!)
i would also be interested if anyone knows spring rates of stock compared to eibach/suplex/h&r
anyway as for ride heights i guess we need the following information (filled out for my car) I measured from the floor to the bottom of the jacking point
Front wheel size, tyre size and make: 18" 235/40/18 Michelin ps4
Rear wheel size, tyre size and make: 18" 235/40/18 Michelin ps4
Shocks: Stock BMW sport
Springs: Stock BMW sport
Front 130mm
Rear 135mm
the photos don't show the best measurement (it was difficult to hold the camera and the tape measure and get a decent angle for the photo!)
i will also measure with stock wheels and tyres on when i get a chance as this will likely provide a better reference against other peoples setups
If anyone else wants to have a measure up it would be much appreciated, it might also answer the above questions of what ride heights people actually end up with after fitting aftermarket springs!
