Ride Height

Morning All,

Not sure if this has been covered before, I seem to recall reading something similar but can't locate the thread.

Wondered if, in passing, someone/(people) would mind measuring the height of the top of their wheel arch from the floor and posting the measurement along with the specs (is m, si, se, lowered on eibachs etc etc). I am considering replacing my eibachs and all the after market kits quote how far it lowers the car by but I don't wish to go too low and it's hard to benchmark against one example... if anyone goes to the trouble, thanks v much! :)

in terms of coilover kits, does anyone have any recommendations? they seem to vary in price and I did umm and ahh about the ast kit that was for sale a while back on here and then it sold..thay seem £££ new. it seems a good way of achieving a compromise so I can start using my car daily, selling doesn't seem an option, unless I list it v cheap.. :?

'TIS states the standards with 18" wheels with sports suspension are 602mm (front) and 588mm (rear) for E85. The height is measured from the lower flange of wheel (not the ground) to lower edge of wheel arch, with 2x68kg at the seats, 14kg in the boot and full tank of fuel. The difference between left and right should not be greater than 10mm.'
 
At least with coilovers the ride height should be adjustable? My H&Rs (springs as opposed to coilovers) have lowered it a lot more than stated, unless they mean compared to the sport springs, but that wouldn't be very logical as most won't have that.
Not that I'm complaining. Jus sayin.
 
eibach do two kits for the e85/6, the first one of these two links lists practically every model and states a 30mm drop all round, the second one is specifically for the e86 3.0si coupe and states a 30mm front drop and a 20mm rear.

if I understand correctly, does that mean that the first set will drop a 3.0si coupe 15mm from standard, insofar as it was 15mm lower than standard z4 stock? and what is the difference between a coupe and a roadster in terms of springs? why is the second set specified coupe only? would it fit other zeds?

basically i'm trying to increase the ride height of my car a smidge (I suspect that it had the 30/20 set fitted and the front has settled a little under the engine weight and the drop is quite significant now, enough to be a day to day pain)

any help would be much appreciated... :thumbsup:
