Yep I watched it , very interesting but that lady did my head a sandwich short of a picnick

I think she was in love with him lol.
They couldn't leave her alone with his body lol

"Can I sit on this pile of earth". Classic, she was nuts!

Can you believe there are forums for that as well. I mean ...

I watched it and all I took from it was that the woman was mentally unstable and I think the guy with the head like a bust sofa was trying to fire into her.

Best bit was when she had to leave the room when the 2 scientist/historian type people were analysing the bones and commenting on whether he was a bit deformed. She acted like it was her husbands autopsy or something. When it went back to the 2 scientists in the room the expressions on their faces were priceless.

Perhaps I should state there is a king under my road. They can finally sort the surface then :D

I see York Minister have today laid claim to his remains since they say he was an 'adopted Yorkshireman'. What a load of tosh.:D
He was born at Fotheringhay Castle near Oundle in Northamptonshire which is only 30 odd miles from where he was buried over 500 years ago. Can't see that Leicester will allow him to be re-buried in any other place than Leicester Cathedral which is only a few yards from the Greyfairs car park.
I agree that Phillipa was as mad as a 'box of frogs' but all credit to The Richard III Society and their 3,500 members world wide for raising the necessary finance in a short space of time to allow Leicester University to carry out this interesting project.

That lady was a bit nuts with the whole 'place the standard on the box' affair when she didn't then have proof; only to sling in the back of a van next to a toolbox!

Best quote I saw today was something like that at least parking was free from 1500 to 1985 :)

Really interesting program and am sure the York Minster claim is just the start of it.

Fascinating programme and mixture of history and science sorting it out.

In fairness to Phillipa she'd spent 4 years working on that and was clearly deeply involved in the whole search and emotional, especially as she kept hearing how he met his demise.

But overall they were one scary bunch of academics, not well suited to TV...

...or interaction with other real humans.

Is it just me or did she remind you of the charector played by Catherine Tate , you know the one always looking for her true love on dating and Internet sites .

Enjoyed watching the programme last night, however I did find Phillipa Langley rather cringeworthy to watch. She has a passion for the history of Richard the III and even stood on the spot where she thought he was buried. Spookily - she was right! I think she was bound to be emotional even if she did come over as a bit of a fruit cake.

Great bit of history wrapped up  I always was a bit of a history buff, especially our own. Trouble with this place is there's only 400yrs of history, try studying that for years in school, gets boring real quick !

Now... where's Elvis "really" buried ??? :poke:

Fruit cakes of the world hold your heads high for you have triumphed again..
(Without them we would never advance 'coz they are so intense and don't quit like normal people in the face of adverse public reaction..... :fuelfire: )

time for a snack,,,what's that in the cupboard.? ooh, a fruitcake !!

I enjoyed it too. I liked the barmy lady. Her engagement made a pile of bones into a person. The royal standard on a box of bones was nice, she loved him and honoured her king as she thought best.
