RHD to LHD seat swap question

Hi all

Here is one for your views please- check that what I am assuming is right...

When transplanting RHD seats into an LHD car:

The drivers seat becomes passenger and vice versa
The current passenger seat has a seat occupancy mat and I don't really want to transplant that over
The current drivers seat has no occupancy sensor mat fitted

When the seats are swapped over:

- will i need to fit an occupancy bypass or not?
- will airbags deploy in a crash correctly

What other options are there?

Hi Stuart,
Yes, to avoid the airbag light you would need a bypass module, or to implant a sensor mat. If the bypass module simulates an occupied seat, the airbag would deploy in a crash, and if it simulates an empty seat, the airbag would not deploy. Would it be my seat, I’d just implant the sensor mat and sleep well.
