RFT and nRFT's

Hi all,

I recently purchased my z4 a couple weeks ago. I noticed that it has different tyres on the front and back. On the back it has the Potenza Run Flats, but on the front it has Hancook Ventus V2. Has anyone ran a setup like this? Is this worse than running all four RFTs?

Ride seems fine for me, but i come from less refined vehicles.

Don't do it...! I'd be surprised if it's even legal, as it will give you an improper balance... and in my mind will be unsafe at speed, or on severe cornering.

That's cobblers. As long as you don't mix on the same axle there are no safety or legal issues!

I have potenza RF rear and normal potenza front. Its grips and handles just fine. Doesn't mean I like Runflats though!

Is that because you still have plenty of tread on the non-RFs, so are waiting to replace them?

do the rears not slide out with the harder compound?

Mixing is fine as long as it’s not across axles. RFs are bad though so replace when you can.
Also be aware that you will have better wet grip front than rear (Bridgestone RFs are bad) so expect interesting times at wet roundabouts.

Found out I have one run flat tire only. I have hancooks on the front, a Bridgestone on the driver side rear and a potenza on passenger rear.

Feel as though the car was used in a science experiment haha. Will replace the potenza for sure, the Bridgestone has a lot of tread left.
