Rewire E85/E86 Paddles so Left Pull Changes Down

Hi all, I have tried to search for this topic, but unable to fine decent instructions/ pictures of how to do this so that the left paddle changes down when pulled and the thumb push changes up. (Right hand paddle to remain unchanged) If this is easy enough I may attempt it.

I have seen on other forums for the 3 series this is possible, but the steering wheel in the E85/ E86 is smaller. Ideally can this be done without removing air bag?

Thanks

I would guess that it's just a wire swap? Taking the airbag off isn't a drama but treat it with respect - I've seen them go off following a knock/drop despite being detached from a car for weeks.

All the wiring is easily accessible once you remove the airbag.
I'd imagine all you need to do is swap the wires over, they should be symmetrical in size so should just re route

I actually love the way you can use either hand to change up/down in the Zed, compared to one side up / one side down on our Honda, but it's great to have choice, and hopefully Beetlegav's right and it's just a wire swap under the airbag.

Couldn't agree more. :D After driving a Scirocco with the one up/one side down (great description and something I wish the motoring press would include in reviews) the paddles on the BM are so much more flexible depending on where your hands are at the time.
