Anyone tried this?

Seems like a good solution to carry stuff, but any damage to car?

I'd be more inclined to go for something like this, https://boot-bag.com/language/enus/soft-car-carrier/

Anti scratch mat underneath it, waterproof and lees likely to cause damage.

Using soft luggage in the boot should be adequate though, I reckon I can get enough in for Lynn and I for two weeks abroad if we are doing fly/park from Manchester.

See reviews show that is more likely to leave marks.

Also, the rack means you can Mount anything on it. Gold bag or skis or just another bag if needed.

Personally I would not put a rack on. Also, any other rack I've seen has the lip the other way round to prevent luggage moving forward towards the rear window in the event of heavy braking/accident etc.

What are our boot lids made of, will they support much weight?

That’s what I’ve got, no issues so far. Would be worried about the rack distorting the boot lid, especially since it’s not metal.

We have a rack like that for the Mx5. Used it a couple of times. No bother no marks. Don't fancy the bag with no rack solution personally, I can see that causing scratches. :(

That’s what I was looking for. Someone who actually has used it.
Is it easy to put on?
No scratches or deviation?

I think the max weight is 25kg for the z4 but it might be less.

I assume you should take the bag off the rack when you motor the roof to avoid straining the mechanism?

Don't have one for my ///MR but the one for the MX5 is simple and sturdy and no marks from a couple of uses. Don't think it is a Revo. Our son bought it, so not certain of the make. But similar.

Just to say that if you are worrying about the paint, I think you can apply a PPF to the boot lid only which shouldn't be expensive and it should prevent the paint from damaged by the rack

Cheaper to repair any damage ;)

I’m looking at this as a back up plan if I can’t get the skis in my car!

I’ve pulled the trigger on the Revo version

Got a nice 70l bag in yellow to match.

Need to find some suitable straps now.

Oooo keep me informed on how you find it.

Wilco..got some nice 400kg+ rated straps so they should hold the bag on

What you planning on putting on there? I think the max weight for the g29 is 20 or 25kg.

Just didn’t want the bag to come off the rack…

I’ve gone for a 70 litre bag..

On the E89 I’ll pack the heavy stuff into the boot bags but jackets etc can go on the rack bag.

My solution to taking my Z4 on a trip requiring lots of luggage space.......taking my wife's 440i. Not a perfect solution, but it does provide for much more luggage. Those of you who are married may understand.
