Reviving a Neglected Z4MR

This work and photos of the oil pump highlights the failure of the pump it sticks open then the rod bearing fail then more damage if you have not stopped it in time

I know a few people that have had a pump fail one after 20 mins at a test day on track it cost him a rebuild and a rebore
If you do the rod bearing do the pump at the same time as you are there anyway

I had an external relief vale fitted as there was an issue with the pumps at the time

@PDJ that aligns with what I had also read about, I concluded the same, a new pump was the best way to get piece of mind

Great work! Quick question, where did you get your Guibo from? as although it's Febi boxed it looks like the manufacturer is SGF which I believe were OEM, unless someone tells me different? Or are all Febi Guibo's actually SGF sold under license by Febi?? thanks

Yes it was a Febi part but a just a reboxed genuine SGF/ OE part. Same with the centre shaft bearing .
