My Z came to me with a private plate on it which I knew was going back to the owner in due course. The dealer (Porsche in Bournemouth) sorted everything with no fuss, and the original plate is back on the car. Just as well really as it matches the original documentation which came with the car.

Technically you could of kept that plate as if the plates not been removed when the car is sold the ownership will transfer to the new owner.

Most BM garages won't sell a car until the private plate has been removed which keeps it showing as 'coming soon' until it's confirmed the plates been removed.

They asked me to sign an agreement that the previous owner could have it back. That was made quite clear in the original advert and I had no problem with it. I'm not a fan of such things anyway, to me they just say "look at me, I have money to waste".

Don't forget to inform your insurance co when you change plates.
