Reversing sensor sounds

Hi all,
so .................. my reversing sensor system has suddenly stopped working.

When you put it into reverse and start to move backwards there is no sounds at all.

I have read some of the topics on here and have listened to the sensors in the rear bumper and they're ALL making the normal 'clicking' noises as they should but there is no 'beep' sounds at all.

Any ideas folks??
 
If the reversing lights are coming on and if all the sensors are making the normal clicking sounds then the reverse switch and sensors would appear to be okay, however only a resistance check of each sensor would tell as I believe the sensors are connected in series and the bumper would require to be removed for this.

My last check would be to check the "beep" speaker, make sure no wires have come detatched and that the speaker has failed. My money is on a disconnected wire to the speaker
 
Is there a button for this to switch the system on and off like the E89?
Have you tried to switch it on manually if there is one?

The only reason there is a button on the E89 is to engage the front sensors without having to go into reverse.
 
A few months ago I experienced the same problem. It turned out to be the actual 'bong/dong/beeper' under the dash that failed.
The part is shared with other BMW models so tracking one down second hand is easily enough. Unless you opt to buy new that is.
Maybes worth a look :thumbsup:
 
Wish my beeper would stop working :x I get the constant tone as if I am about to hit something add to that the bong bong noise when reverse is engaged I feel like I am driving a G4S Van

I have the same problem but more intermittent.
Sometimes I reverse in beautiful silence until I get too close to anything :)
The next time it's going off with nothing within 50m :x
