Reverse sensors not working...

My reverse sensors dont seem to be working and havent since a i bought my Z4 a couple of weeks ago.

With the car in reverse gear and sticking my head near each individual sensor i can hear the clicking that ive read about in similar forum posts but there is no sound at all from the speaker itself... any ideas?
 
It could be the speaker itself, although that would be unusual.

FYI, all mine were clicking but it took replacing 3 of them to get it working properly (thank gawd for warranty). The only real way of telling what's wrong is plugging it into a diagnostic system.
 
Before you do, someone suggested running a hair dryer over them as they can ingest water. No idea if this is true, but mine packed up after the winter...
 
Will look a bit weird in front of the neighbours... But well worth a go if it's potentially gonna save me some money. Thanks for the info.
