Hello, thanks for having me back.
My last Z4 was several years ago but such is the attraction I decided to enjoy a little more fun while I can.
The car is great but sadly I was mislead as to its condition and following a train journey from Bedford to Hastings I handed over the cash and set off to drive it home. Aircon not working but even worse the climate control would not turn off the heater.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction, the aircon has no gas - fair enough, but where do I start to either reset the climate temperature on low or decide where the problem lies. I'm thinking maybe a water valve to the heater matrix or a distribution flap. Any reference to similar topics appreciated.
Regards Tony

Hi and welcome back Tony.

Just a thought but did your car sit about for some time before you bought it? If the battery gets low the car can go into "Transport Mode" which pretty much disables the A/C, heated rear screen among other things.

It's supposed to be deleted during the PDI but often just got disabled.

But if you have no gas either it's possible you may have more than one issue.

Hi, that's for the thumbs up, hopefully smiles ahead.
I don't think it's in transport mode, the climate control panel lights up, fan goes up and down, temperature increases to very hot but not down to 'ambient', all aircon lights illuminate. Yes, I appreciate no gas = no aircon but I'd like to ensure the heater controls work correctly before wasting money on a re-gass.

Doesn't sound like Transport Mode then.

But a regas may not be a bad starting point as it's one of the cheapest options. My previous E86 wouldn't hold pressure because the condensor was leaking!
