Return of tramlining

btw where did you get my quote above about keeping out of the slow lane - I don't remember ever saying that?

I think Rory mi-quoted whilst banging his head about middle lane etc, it was me that said it. I'de actually suggest lane 3 is most appropriate for the Z4 Rory :poke:

Dear god no! Inside lane unless overtaking. Clogs up the roads and strangles the economy causing a 3/4 lane motorway into a dual carrigeway. M25 is the worst. People sit in the 3rd lane at 60mph. I'm in the first doing 70mph with no one in the 2nd. Does my head in.

I've found the Zed very sensitive to tyre pressures. I run 32 front 34 rear - a few psi makes a big difference so experiment a little.

Like the idea of starting with the ///M pressures of 32 rear 30 front (mentioned earlier)

I always thought that runflat tyres had a stiffer sidewall and therefore needed higher pressures to inflate - may be mis-guided logic but I'm not running my non runflats at runflat pressures - they are very high I think for 'normal' tyres.

Managed to get out on a long run in the zed this morning down the a14. It seams a little better running 30psi front 32rear but it's still there where as a few months ago I had none. Odd really.

As others have said it could just be temperature related. But could also be a down to tear wear as the characteristics of tyres does change as they get low on tread. Factors such as noise, grip, feel etc can all change on worn tyres. Another thing to consider is tyres can also wear unevenly etc due to tyre pressure, suspension wear & out of spec geometry.
My gut feeling is its probably the drop in temps in the last few weeks, I have noticed how big a difference this can make on summer tyres over the years on a variety of vehicles, particularly ones fitted with performance tyres.

I'm glad this has been brought up. I changed from run flats to non run flat Michelin PS3. There was a huge difference but since about November it feels awful again. Admit I haven't checked the pressures recently but the idea of lower temps sounds realistic as the harder I drive her the nicer it becomes
