I have recently bought myself some M3 coupe seats for my Z and I've hit a wall after a lot of faffing!
The story goes, i bought the seats and stuck them in the car and they did not work, i tried to recode the control unit but still nothing.
So i took the seats out again and had a good look at all the wires etc, and split the control unit to find that it was full of water!
So i replaced the control unit with the one off my z4 and tested .. the driver seat would only go forwards backwards, other functions didn't work
So i went about replacing all the motors and wiring loom of my z4 seats and fitting them onto the M3 seat .. perfect all works fine
Because one seat had water ingress, i thought, better off replacing everything on the passenger seat to .. however, once put back together, the controls for the passenger seat are all over the place .. the buttons don't control what they should .. could be a coding issue
so heres my question ...
My new M3 seats have lumbar support and air bolsters .. do these need coding into the control unit, or do they just take power from the switch block to run the air pumps separate to the control unit?
If they are separate, i am prob right in assuming that those switches for lumbar/bolsters are probably full of water too?
Sorry about the big post haha
