Retrofitting new type automatic shifter to E86

Surely that doesn't actually do anything though, eg light up like the real thing does?

Yeah the sports one lights up but I don't really care about the light.
I do wonder if the side button works as the stop you have so you don't go into Reverse from Drive.
And it does look a bit odd with the leather gaiter as opposed to the plate surround.
