I've searched but can't find anything, I have a pro headunit with satnav etc but want to retrofit the TV function, I've found a module but I can't find a "how to" with the rest of the info I need, anyone have one??

I have the tv function in my car but as were now digital i no longer works am not sure when the whole country goes digital, think there is an option to fit a digital module but believe its expensive. Am sure those with more knowledge can tell you more.

Yeah the switch off is coming my way soon but it's still on at the mo, need to do the retrofit before I can add dvd + front & rear camera etc

I retrofitted the BMW TV. 8) It's very simple. - I assume that you already have prof Nav?

You need:

TV module
Cable that connects TV module to the Nav DVD drive
Cable to connect TV module to a TV aerial.
Big piece of copper/steel rod/stiff cable
Soldiering iron.

(I made my TV aerial out of thick copper wire and installed it inside if the rubber seal of the boot. I got great reception. :D

If you are lucky, the bracket that holds the TV module in place will be already there, bolted to the rear bulkhead behind the boot carpet. There will be a big piece of foam stuck to the carpet (like a brick), remove the foam. This is the space for the TV module to go. If no bracket there, just 'wedge it into the space'.

Install takes about 30 mins. I removed and re-fitted to my newer Z4. - it's that easy.

Ah ... Zed Five, now I know who you are - you are Chris, right?

:D Busted! - ( I guess that my 'aerial' solution gave it away? ) - Now temporarily on the upside-down part of the world. Missing having a Zed and looking forward to a new one in the summer.

Sorry, I no onger have the part numbers, but your BMW parts desk will be able to bring up on screen. I *think* that the pair came to around £45??

It's plug and play. When you connect the TV module to the Nav drive and then turn on the ignition, you will have the TV option on your nav menu. make sure you get a wide screen TV module, not the older screen ratio. - The smaller style screws up the view of your menu, not just the TV screen size..

I.e. watch a 'narrow' screen on the TV, then swithc to the menu and the screen remains narrow. - No such problem if you get the correct TV module.

Enjoy!
