I think with some of the after market kits the switches are small enough to fit on the plastic area around the bottom of the seat so there's no need for something out of place in a prominent position on the dash/console. A few of the guys on the Audi forum did this.
In terms of the OEM switches. I've seen quite a few on ebay over the last couple of months, usually around the £90 mark which I was told was too much. I also dare say that throwing out a search on one of the breakers sites would throw a couple up. Never a shortage of people wrecking Z's for us vultures.

I got mine from ebay but as others say put up a request on here in the wanted forum.
This is where my thinking is heading with my e90 but if I still had a Z4 without heated seats then I'd seriously consider it as an option. My understanding is post-facelift lack the wiring loom for an OEM installation (pre-facelift being wired for all/most options regardless of them being specced). But it's possible: you'd just need to buy/add the loom in addition to the heating panels and switch unit.thorpyuk said:How do-able is it for post facelift cars? Or, if you went after-market you'd simply wire them direct to the battery and save a bit of faffing. I'm considering fitting the same kit to my e90. Hardest part is fitting the damn pads as you need to strip the seat covers off and refit them. Wiring is easy.
