Retrofit Folding Mirrors

Hi there!

As the title suggests, I am looking to see if someone maybe has a guide or something tucked away from a retrofit they've done for power folding mirrors. I have a set I got from a breaker along with the switch and have been looking for some information on what is needed for the retrofit and maybe someone here has something I can follow?

I did some previous cruise control work and bits and bobs, so I have INPA if it needs to be coded in too!

Thanks in advance all - appreciate all the advice here. Hope everyone is enjoying their Zed in good weather. :driving::cool:

What year is your Z4 and do you have the module that you'll need in addition to the switch and the mirrors?

That may be true for E89s, but I believe you need this control module on E85/86s that sits in the footwell.

I have an early 2004, purchased the folding mirrors & module plugged it all in but mirrors do not fold. Adjusting the glass works fine.

Maybe you are right and the OP has mixed it up. Can't find any hint on his car. :D

Your doors don't have the needed wires, whilst your chassis did. I can send you the wires you need and you can add them. People used to source the entire door looms but its easier to just add the wires you need.

I have all the information you need , but I'm currently out of the country so don't have access to it. I can link it to you when I'm back next week.
Did it on mine, it's a bit of messing around under the dash with the additional wiring but not too bad, then a bit of coding.

Hello all! Wow, so many responses! 😯

Yes, I have an E89 from 2014; I should have said, sorry! I seem to recall I only needed the mirrors and the switch unit for the door. Is a module still required or is that more for E85/E86? :)
Wow, @AnubisZed that would be amazing - thank you!

Mirrors, switch and wires is all you need.

Well hopefully all is well with him!🀞

I managed to get some long length wires from a local breaker for this job so hopefully it will be sufficient! Looking forward to doing this. :)
