Retrofit DAB radio... Options?

I have Pro Nav but no DAB. There is a very good radio station here in Glasgow, Real Radio XS, which plays top rock tunes, but the FM signal isn't great, but they are on DAB.
I've been looking at various options, which seem to be as follows:
1) OEM retrofit. Not explored it properly but looks like it could be > £1k :(
2) Alpine EZI-DAB http://www.alpine-europe.com/p/Products/dab3842/ezi-dab / pure highway 300di http://www.pure.com/products/product.asp?Product=VL-61716 (same unit AFAIK, but the alpine one has a display which can be changed to orange to match the BMW colour) or
3) connects 2 AutoDab. http://www.autodab.com/

I think 1 is out of the question based on cost. 2 has drawback that it is not integrated & has an external controller.
3 seems to be more integrated, but maybe a bit complex to control as all inputs seem to be via the MFSW.
Has anyone any comments, feedback, experiences recommendations or warnings with respect to these?

Have you tried the DAB signal? If FM is poor, is DAB going to be worse?

Thats an awful lot of money to spend on a radio! I have DAB, use it in preference to any other signal type as it switches channels faster, but I don't think I'd spend that kind of money on it. Usually listen to the iDrive music TBH.

I actually really enjoy the radio as a medium...& I listen to the radio more often than one HDD music collection BBCR2, BBC Scot T Real XS are fine on FM, the issue is the FM signal is weak for Real XS i guess a pretty local transmitter weak signal but I understand it has wider DAB network coverage, hence the question..

DAB signal in the house is crystal clear

Had the OEM DAB in my wires 3 Series - OK in city areas but beyond that was fairly useless.

I'd agree with that... hopeless outside of major cities

I stream Internet radio from my iPhone using Bluetooth to the car.
Not as straightforward but works well if you've got a decent data contract and signal.
