Retrofit cruise question.

Hiya guys.
Just retrofitted cruise to my 2003 z4 and test drove it all working fine but no indicator light on the dash to say cruise is activated. Should there be one?
Thanks in advance.
Steve

No, no indicator, have a look at your display, no space for one! As soon as you use the brake or clutch it disengages so no issue.

Thanks, yeah couldn’t really see any space for an indicator but thought I might have been missing something so just thought I’d check. All works great otherwise, I’m made up 😀😀

Glad you've got it sorted OP - and welcome to the forum by the way!

But you know the forum rules - now we need some photos of your car!

Thank you 😊👍👍👍, my zed is a bit of a work in progress at the minute, it’s getting there, but will get some pics when I’m happy with it. It’s a 2003 3.0 auto in Sterling grey. Proper love it, sounds and goes amazing and really love the looks of them. Thanks again 🍻👍

I retrofitted cruise control last year and had assumed that the lack of indication light was because I didn't have the correct coding in place. The same happened on an Audi A3 I had a few years back. It seems a little unsafe for BMW not to have provided one at all :o

Yep, I think the same. I’ve not used mine much since I retrofitted it but when I do I’m always a bit apprehensive as it takes a few seconds to suss if it’s turned on or still off. I was very surprised BMW didn’t include a visual indicator to show if the cruise is in operation.
