retrofit clear lights

Have just been offered second chance at new pair of non tango headlights on eBay. Was hoping someone could tell me how easy it is to retrofit the lights. I got a bit carried away and bid 225 quid. Is this a good price? Part of me says it is and part says spend the money elsewhere!

Price is good if you search a post I put up in October called a week of mods it talks through the mod and links pawnsacrifices and mister rogers posts for bumper removal which I found very helpful...
Can't post the link myself as I'm on the iPhone

£225 for a pair of UK spec clear front headlights? Great price! Not done it but understand its a very easy retrofit so sounds like you've done okay.

Not, xenon, candle spec halogen.but apparently brand new. Taking the bumper off explains why I can't see access to lights from under the bonnet!

Still a good price. Bumper removal is pretty simple but easier with two people so give a mate a call!

just do it :D

I managed to get my bumper off and back on again on me own. Didnt find it that hard - just follow the guide on here

Good price for clear indicator.
Can't see the need for 2 people. Had my bumper on and off a few times on my own.

Biggest challenge is getting the ligths and panel joins all perfect once you take the lights out

Imp75 if these were the ones on eBay yesterday I won them !

The seller hasn't answered any of my questions and can't even show a photo of both lights together...my gut feel is to walk away.....so beware !

Chester, yeah, they ended at about 230pm. Was your highest bid 340? Came.back to.me last night saying the price is 340! I said second chance offer should be at my bid of 225. Not heard back. I think something is not quite right because the pic is the same one as the single light that went the day before for 255. Again, I asked if this is the case and there was no answer. Gut says to walk away. Shame though cos its a deal, but I suppose that's the feeling con artists prey on!

Isn't it a standard Ebay con to get a mate to outbid everyone at the end and then do a second chance offer to the remaining highest bid??

Also ask yourself if your high bid was £225 it shot to £340 unless there were multiple bids after your highest?

All very suspicious.

Yeah I bin £340 at the end.

Within 30 mins of the auction ending I had 2 messages from the selling demanding payment. He then phoned me wanting to know why I hadn't paid yet ! ....he's desperate for the cash !

I asked him if they were Xenon or halogen...his response was they were the standard ones for a 2008 model. The ones with the big bulb !

Something isn't right here !

As u say its a shame cos its not a bad deal...but only a good deal if the lights are real and exist !

Too many alarm bells! I was going against my instincts, seriously considering buying, but after your info Chester, I'm gonna sadly let them go. I can live with being connex out of 50 quid but three figure sums are a diff matter. No doubt back on eBay today!

Wise move, I'll no doubt get negative feedback on eBay but that's better than losing £340 quid !

The search continues for facelift lights !

I am also looking for clear lights but due to some financial problems, although found these lights, couldn't afford them that's why when I saw Chester looking for headlights, shared the info with him. Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you either but as you said it,it is better to get a negative feedback than losing the money!
