This is exactly my worry - how could I trust an Indy to get it right particularly because, as you say, the retrofit instructions are wrong for the N52! (& difficult to follow IMO). The kit with the loom is around £120 I believe

Sounds like a steady drive down, then once fitted, you can enjoy a relaxed drive up north Collin. Steve's a really nice bloke and knows his stuff.

Steve's offer is amazing really, but I think its asking too much of the fella. 5 hours work seems too much to ask.

Well, looking at what rosskins paid, I would take a drive down south Collin.

I got mine done by BMW Blackburn for a shade over £400 all inclusive. There is no cruise light in your dash when you engage the stalk but cruise works as it should. I tapped into their wifi and enjoyed several 'free' coffees whilst I waited for just over one hour to get the thing fully fitted :D They say a fool and his money... but I have never looked back.

Thanks for the info rosskins

I know a few who have used Peter Van Der Veer in the past.

Maybe worth a phone call Colin.

Marsden is a bit of a drive from Preston though.

If you took most of the trim off yourself I'm sure I could do it in an hour or two, either way - you're always welcome!

Peter is excellent, would highly recommend him. Worth asking him for a fixed price quote and you will be getting first class work. Marsden's much closer than anywhere down south too !!

But the Cruise is a straightforward fit. As Steve mentioned, some bits can be time consuming, I deliberately took my time when I did mine, and was evening babysitting my 2 year old at the same time ! But can appreciate that you may not want to tackle it yourself.

Hope it all gets sorted - You are building one nice Zed !

Cheers Kammy, any developments on your gearbox problem?

Any auto-electrical specialist worth their salt should be able to do it in an hour or so. I had BMW quote me £369 with me supplying the kit (and no guarantee). I told them to stuff it where the sun don't shine. Autoelectrics in Swindon did it in 1.5 hrs and charged me £80 ! I had all the instructions from here printed out and annotated. The guy who did it didn't need this and said it was obvious when he looked at the electrical connections available. I think that you can get a good idea of how good they are by talking to them .

That's fantastic! How did you find out about them? I wonder if they could do my Z4M - I hear the wiring to the ECU is specific to the M and after that it Also needs to be coded in... :?
