Retro Fitting Bluetooth

I am not sure if this post should be here, or in the discussion forum, but here goes, I have been upgrading my August 2004 Z4 since I bought it almost 2 years ago.. Out has gone the manual cloth seats to be replaced with black leather electric heated seats. The steering wheel has been upgraded, to an MFSW?? I have bought a set of 108s that I am ready to have refurbished, I have just put in a Radiovox so I can play my iphone through my business radio. New roof motor as seems to be the norm, an OEM windscreen, to stop a leak. I have has a good bit of the interior wrapped in carbon fibre affect. I am booked in with Peter Van Der Veer to fit my electric folding mirrors, so now on to my next challenge, BLUETOOTH? How easy is it to do this and what parts will I need to pick up to do it. I assume that like all the other jobs I have carried out I will benefit from the Pre October 2004 having the full wiring loom, but what else will I need???

At the moement I can't tell you ecxactly what is involved parts wise...... but I am in the process of breaking my written off car which has full OEM bluetooth.... so if your able to work out what nweeds to be stripped off to make the full assembly we could work somthing out.
 
why not use a mediabridge system its a popular option for bluetooth plays music and makes calls using the business cd unit plugs into the cd changer wiring loom in the boot compartment costs about £100 and is an easy diy fit . google it ..
 
I already have a Radiovox duo silverline fitted, which I use for my iphone to charge and play music, don't know if it has Bluetooth capability. I do like the idea though of stripping the bits of a Z4 and retrofitting the original equipment, just back to that old chestnut, which bits do I need ?
 
Makes no difference what year you have they all need the same parts.

Loom
Ulf module
Mic module. One on steering column is best to go for
Bluetooth module
Pairing button or tray for center console.
Aerial if you are really fussed Although not really required.
 
Looked into this before years ago- make sure if you do go this route you get the newest ulf you can find or newer phones won't pair. I would suggest that you get an after market phone set up that integrates with controls on wheel- much easier and cheaper.
 
When you say loom, Is it just the bit of loom that goes between the ULF module and the existing wiring?
 
No, it's big, needs to connect to the car, Ulf, Mic, BT, aerial, pairing button/cradle so would be an absolute bugger to try and make up.
 
So even a pre October Z4 wont have the necessary wiring in place to simply just plug all the relevant bits in to activate the BT??, that's a bummer
 
Just had a good look in the boot area behind the carpets and the only spare connectors I could find anywhere were those for a cd changer, looks like it isn't my day
