I currently have the problem where when I attempt to retract the roof it unlatches, the motor is whining, but the top doesn't go back. If I give it a nudge at the top (a little bit of force) then the motor will carry the whole roof back. When I attempt to close the roof, it can do it on its own.
I am looking to follow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPhwOO654JA video on taking out the motor. I bought https://www.ebay.com/itm/314476074628 , and was looking to either switch the whole component or just the electric motor (not sure).
Should I disconnect the battery when doing this work? Also any tips or suggestions on what I can check on the current motor if I get it out? Is it easy to do the full swap? I can't seem to find a video that does the full swap, so just nervous there.
