Some premium youtube stumbling found a host of 'camber' vids, all seem to be from the far east. I dont get it, some are to the extent the wheels look detached and useless.

I passed one of these guys here in the northern part of Japan just the other day, and had to think about why anyone would do such a (yup) retarded and impractical thing. Then I realized that according to Japanese law tires must not extend beyond the wheel well, and this is probably just a novel way for the young-uns to thumb their noses at the law.

Just a guess.

It's still retarded though.

I'm all for being different, but some things should be off limits. (And how are you different if you copy what all your mates are doing?)

Not limited to far East apparently. The red hatch in the second clip (not too extreme camber) is in California. Not many places where gum trees grow and they drive on the right. California does have a significant Asian population.

And the detail of the home made spindle carrier. If you're going to do something structurally questionable to your car, find someone that can actually weld. What an ugly POS hack!
 
That's just stupid. I thought the Euro look with rims way too wide for tyres was bad enough, but this takes it. :rofl: :rofl:

Back in the days of driving my *sensored* ( an old day equivalent of the Citroen DS2 :oops: ), I had it lowered c.70mm front, and a measured 105mm at the rear vs OEM height.

I went through 2 drive shafts, and the rear axle was on its last legs when I sold it. The gas shocks at the rear exploded twice as they were operating out with normal parameters. The car was pretty much riding on the bump stops.

Despite the fact that mechanically it was just plain wrong. It was the best looking *sensored* around. It had no other exterior mods. Just slammed. I still look back at it with fond memories.

However, the tyres were at least straight it the arches (ok, a modest tilt), and certainly not extreme.
