Restoring Leather Bolster

Trying to get a colour code from my BMW dealer is not as easy as squeezing blood from a stone.

I need to recolour/restore my drivers side bolster, happy with the procedure from FurnitureClinic but concerned about colour matching (Individual WalkNappa Leather Silverstone N5 I think) I'd like to send them a sample.

Does anyone know which part of the seat I can cut a sample from or how they manged to colour match?

Take the back panel off the seat to expose the edge of the leather and see if you can snip off a little piece of excess material.
 
Don't cut your seats unless you absolutely have to

Put last 7 digits of your vin in a vin decoder site and you'll find the code easy
 
If you have sports seats I found that there is a decent size piece of leather tucked under the bottom of the seat - i snipped a piece of this off and sent it to Gliptone .

They reckoned that they have at least 6-7 different Imola leathers for BMW for instance

Match might not be good enough, hence why they want a sample.

As above though should be some under the seat that can be removed without any effect.

I have used the vin decoder and it gives me:

Upholstery INDIV.LEDER NE BICOLOR/SILVERSTONE (NBC5)

Furniture Clinic only have one Colour for Silverstone, 'Merino Silverstone 2' so the above means nothing to them.

I'll have a fettle around under the seats to see if I can snip some leather off, reluctant to do this unless anyone has any other ideas?
