Was good to finally meet you. Thanks everyone for coming out for what I thought was an enjoyable run in the sun. Not yet home yet - catching the last of the sun in a beet garden in Strathaven.

I guess it was a bit too adventurous an overtake to try! Misjudged the distances a little!

Great day -thanks for organising it JimmyPop -good to meet some new faces who will hopefully attend some other meets. As with most recent Scottish zed meets weather was fantastic - A11y even got out the sun tan lotion briefly.

A good length run where we were generally quite lucky with traffic - Glen Fruin road over to Faslane direction was excellent - pics to follow soon :driving:

Always happy to oblige, so I will give it my best shot, hope it doesn't dissapoint...

Attempting to overtake a blind donkey could be deemed "a bit too adventurous" for a 4 pot.
.
.Thank ya very much :D

Sounds like you had a good day guys,, bring on the pics

Thanks for today guys, really good to meet you all. Just a pity I didn't come out for a bit longer.

Really looking forward to getting another run soon.

I might even admit to being a bit jealous of the ragtops.

Hi all, was good meeting a few of you. Sorry I couldn't hang around longer to meet the reinforcements from the coupe point of view - Jonnymito, I passed you not far along the A84. You couldn't have been far behind getting to Oban.

I now have a bunch of over exposed shots of Scottish mist. These are the better ones:

I have to admit, I almost wanted a roadster today :-) With the roof down they do look good. But with the roof up, there's no comparison which looks nicer ;)

Definitely got the better traffic heading up there and not on my return trip. Took me sodden ages to get back - felt like a crawl at 40mph pretty much the entire way from before getting to Tyndrum to just after Callander. Got a brief respite after that but my clear road ahead was quickly blocked again.

Excuse me, but the cars with the "proper engines" had trouble keeping up with me at the start! :driving:

Really enjoyed today - thanks to all who came along. Was good to meet a few new faces who will hopefully join us again. With their current cars or after they convert to roadsters :poke:

Overall, my journey was 255miles from start to finish. Trip computer calculated 36.2mpg.

Will filter through photos and post some later. Anyway, highlights for me:

The GlennFruin Road
The Road to Arrochar
Tasty fish and chips with the seagulls keeping at bay
Tablet ice cream at the Green Welly
A11y's yellow seats (and passing a Z3 in the same colour!)

Lows:

The traffic leading up to Balloch
My ridiculous attempt at overtaking :headbang:

So, six weeks to go until the next one. Roll on Skye!

Some more over exposed pics from today - damn that famous Scottish heat haze. . . .

to be fair JP did set a decent early pace .... despite an ultimately frustrating dodgy overtaking attempt

Damn Scottish genes! Although to be fair I didn't burn for once but that was probably due to it being SPF30 (honestly it's all I could find!)

 I did see the attempted overtake and wondered WTF was going on. From where I was it looked like you were near enough past jimmypop. Some of the motorcyclists need to follow your example and back off sometimes though - some of their overtakes were ludicrous IMO, not helped by those MG owner's club folk closing rank and not making overtaking easy for them.

Yet to hook my camera up to the laptop but will do later - guess my photos will be similar to everyone elses though. Great to meet new meat: CoupeChief, Jonnymito and cj_eds. And great to catch up with the usual suspects. And thanks for not taking the piss for me bringing my mum along to a meet, she really enjoyed the drive/scenery and chatting to the other females while the blokes talked "cars"

Photos to follow :)

Yeah I did see you but you were alongside before I noticed. Shame to have missed you it would have been an even split with the Tin Tops!

And don't get cocky: 37.1mpg (recorded on the trip) and 290miles for my 3.0 yesterday :P

I was just looking to see if there was some mentions of reckless overtaking from JimmyPop :)

Sorry to say your not famous yet. Must try harder next time.

Great looking countryside you have there - look forward to sampling something similar in a couple of weeks.
