Resprayed steering wheel covers

I’ve always liked the silver steering wheel covers from the earlier cars as I think they brighten the interior up a bit, so I thought why not re spray my covers. Mine were showing signs of wear, not surprisingly after 120k miles so here was an opportunity.
I took them off and gave then a good rub down, coat of plastic primer, then a few coats of plasti-cote chrome paint.
My first go at spraying plastic so not perfect but I'm happy.
Need to get the M sticker next.

What do you guys think?

Thanks guys, I know it's not perfect but good enough.
Annoyingly I broke the one on the right so had to glue it back together. Can still see the crack :x
 
Is there a forum guide on removing these covers? Not sure about silver in my car but they could use a refurbish.
 
Looks good. I did mine a few months ago and vastly improved it. It gets rid of the peeling rubbery effect stuff on the black trims.

Not looking as good now though after use but still much better!
 
I did my ones a few years back, now starting to wear off though. Your covers look spot on OP :thumbsup:

Not sure, but you have to take the airbag off first then remove the four screws from behind.
They all unclip at that point ( and break)

Looks good. I resprayed mine black a while back and cracked the M badge in two. Tried to get a replacement for ages but it isnt the same size as the badges for the wheels. Just glued the original together and stuck it on. If you find an M sticker that fits let me know.
