Not silly Dan, BUT if it was mine I would probably spend the refurb money on some 108s or 224 style alloys instead and get those arches filled?

+1

Get Andy on the job and keep those as winters.

The ride will crash a little more as your side walls will likely be of a lower profile - but it is a sports car and I couldn't see it bothering you at all on standard suspension. I'd wait until you need tyres and then try get some already with tyres then you don't waste any money. Maybe I'm stingy :-)

Just spent £300 on all new tyres to get rid of the run flats. Plus all the roads around me are terrible! Will have a look at wheels and see how i feel about it thanks for the input! Still think spraying them white would look cool tho :D

Go for it then :-) I don't know if they do plastdip in white but if they do - would cost hardly anything to spray it on roughly to see what it is like. Then you can just peel it off and either forget the idea or go ahead with it!

Will get some quotes and see how i feel then. Need to get my hardtop sprayed as well really but half of me cant see the point because i wont get the money back when i sell it.

I would plasti dip them yourself. I just did my new grill with this stuff and it's excellent and you can peel it off later or if you don't like it.

Is it hard wearing?

It will flake off the wheels but it will give you a good idea of what it will look like, and is cheap!

It's very tough because it's rubber and quite difficult to get off. Well, difficult and easy if you know what I mean. Difficult because it adheres really well but easy because when you do lift it, it does just peel off. I reckon you would need 3 or 4 cans for the four wheels. Look on Youtube there are lots of videos.

Cheers  will watch some videos! trying to find a website where i can put white wheels on a z4 and see how it looks

Those wheels look awful as standard. In white, they'd look even worse.

18's needed at the very least imo.

DanStarr - hearing what you're saying about the ride and I don't think the petal wheels look too bad at all - I think white wheels will work well with your blue - but might look a bit cheap rather than class? Using plastidip is a good idea - cheap and you can revert easily.

:driving:

Nooooo!

If anything, black will look better IMHO.

White is only for 70's rally cars and original minilites AFAIC.

Just sayin'.

Sell them, and get some 18" decent reps, carbon dipped.

Never regretted dumping my 17" daisies for 166's

Definitely need Bigger Wheels Dan.
Why not keep the originals for winter if there's plenty of tread on them still ???
