The Coupe was brought back to me yesterday after being taken away for a week for;
- wheel refurb
- respray of bonnet, skirts and bumper (due to some stone chips)
- Ceramic laquer used
- Fitting of Aero skirts
I really havent had much time to take decent pics etc, but here are a few taken just now - iphone so they are a little crap.
I know Aero skirts on the coupe is an acquired taste, but really the pics dont do it justice. They go so well with the cruve of the rear quarter and really make the car look more squatted down ( so to speak). The only improvements I can see are adding 19" wheels but really got to draw the line on spending so much on the car recently, and being out of work for past few weeks. Maybe next month....!
The spray job was done by a superb Merc / Porsche approved bodyshop near me. It cost £1150
but the work is incredible. They have also used a ceramic laquer for strength, and cant wait to get out there and polish / wax over the weekend.
Hopefuly the pics will load ok and more will follow once I get the chance. I've also ordered new steering wheel spokes as the current ones (matt black) are flaking. £115 - yoiks but worth it to keep the car immaculate.

Your choice of clearcoat was an excellent one. In the paint business, it's called CeramiClear, a ceramic based nanotechonology finish developped by PPG. It's been the OEM choice of MB and Porsche for several years now, and it's REALLY a shame that BMW hasn't adopted it yet...as can attest the many who are having surface finish problems with their E89. You'll definitely notice the improved resistance over the other body panels as the car ages.
