I put a new column in mine and the only thing I had to do was re-set the steering angle sensor. This is a separate unit that bolts onto the column lower down, not part of the servo assembly. Took 2 mins to re-set and my local garage did it with a launch scanner, so no need for the dealer.
Still crappy electric pas though! Must get round to converting mine to take the Z4m hydraulic rack i have sat on my toolbox.... So many projects, so little time!
