Reset warning light

Hi I have just bought a 2010 E89 2.5 manual from a reputable dealer. I just noticed the small warning triangle on the dash and scrolled to Check Control which shows the symbol of car on a maintetance ramp/lift. I checked all the other indicators and they seem to be ok but can seem to reset and remove the warning. There are no other indicators that show anything wrong and the car has plenty of miles to go before a service. I assume I am just doing something wrong. Anyone have any guidance. Thanks

Sounds to me like it's either asking for a service or the inspection (usually timed to coincide with an MOT). Might just need resetting

Take the car back to the dealer. The warning triangle is his problem, not yours.

mine did it for a couple of days after the battery had been disconnected
It'll do it for all sorts of reasons, large, small or nothing at all. But in this case, in a newly bought car, it's the dealer's responsibility to sort it out.

If you look in the car info will probably elude to the issue but I would guess either service or brake fluid change

If its the car on the lift and there are no other service items due like oil, brake fluid, brakes, MOT, it will be for the vehicle check which is just another way for BMW to charge money for nothing.
