Request for Access data and password

For the last week I have been asked for my access data and password on the idrive every time I start the car. I assume this is to link it with the BMW App? I have entered the details and password but keep getting the same message stating the details are not correct.
Have tried amendments in the App and changing passwords but again keep getting the same message?
What is going on?
 
I've not had this issue to date (and I'm not an expert), but is the BMW app up to date?
Don't rely on the auto updates, go into the app store and see if there is an update available

I had a problem with Spotify recently and was surprised how many apps had 'update' next to them in them app store'.

Will give it a try
 
Delete the user and resign in. That should solve the problem.

Also there is somewhere in the idrive to accept some conditions which this rings a bell with me.

Contacted the team at BMW and they gave a couple of options to try and none worked. Eventually had to take the nuclear option and as suggested, deleted my details on the car and resigned in using the QRcode in the App. It worked but have had to reset some preferences such as seat settings. They had no idea why it happened but said it wasn’t uncommon
