Glad to be here and hope you're all well.
New forum member here, hoping you guys can help me out w/ a couple issues I've with my z4 2004
1) I bought it in May last year. About a month after sometimes when I would turn the car on the power steering wouldn't be working, and the yellow steering wheel light w/ exclamation mark would be on. This has slowly become more and more frequent till the power steering basically doesn't work any more and the light it always present.
I had it scanned a while ago and it says "steering angle sensor not communicating w/ ECU"
I went a to an apparently pretty good bmw garage and they say it should be just a case of replacing the sensor. a different bmw garage, some bmw breakers, said it needs the steering column removed and refurbed.
2) the boot is dry, but the underside of the battery compartment lid is wet, and the metal bit underneath and the battery often have some water on them
Ill take some pictures when I've got it washed
