They do just pull off and push on right? Mine don't want to come off so before I put some brute force in just checking it is just a case of pulling them off.
There's a metal band you need to pry open with a flat-head screw driver. Then they just pop off and the new ones can simply be pushed on. I found this video helpful when doing mine

Where are you buying replacements from? Mine are making a horrible noise when I open and close the boot. The noise gets worse in high temps, so need replacing very soon!
