Replacing soft top motor 2006 2lit Z4

I am transferring the existing hydraulic lines from my old soft top motor to a replacement motor.
The lines are paired and numbered 11,13 and 12,14, which correspond to the connector numbering on the existing motor.
The paired numbering stamped on the new motor however are reversed,so if I transfer the lines in pairs to exactly the same position on the new motor, then lines 11,13 go onto connector 12,14 and lines 12,14 go on to connector 11,13.
This worries me.
Can anyone help or clarify PLEASE.

Hi. I have not done this myself but there are a lot of old postings on this forum and others covering this. It appears from all that I have read that some people have found that if you reverse the hydraulic lines you also have to reverse the electrical connections to the motor. Comments have been made that newer motors have got reversed connections! There are many who have not got it right 1st time and the soft top does not operate, whilst others end up with their controls in the car reversed and live with it. ie the hood up button now lowers it and vice versa. Some even made the decision to dismantle the whole lot again to reconnect one or the other. You are obviously doing the right thing to double check and be sure before connecting up and reassembling the soft top.

here is the link to one on this forum.

If you google something like 'Z4 hood motor connection' you will find more on other forums.

Hope it all works out for you, sorry I couldn't be more exact but as I said, I haven't had to do this (yet?).
