Replacing Seats

Hi, just bought some second hand leather seats from a 2.5 2004 to replace my cloth seats of my 2005 2.2.

Is it quite straight forward to swap them over. The leather seats I have bought the passage seat has the seat belt attached but the drivers one does not have one.

Hi, I think you have to disconnect the battery before taking the seats out or the airbag wiring will throw up a dashboard warning light that needs a dealer reset :|

Its simple to remove the seats. Simply unbolt the 4 bolts attaching the rails to the floor, and unbolt the seatbelt that's also bolted towards the floor. If you have electric seats, move the seat to its highest position as this will give more room underneath. You may also need to move the seat back and forward using the electric controls to give better access to the floor bolts. Unclip the seatbelt from the top of the seat, I think there's a screw that needs to be undone here if I remember correctly.

Next you should disconnect your battery and wait 20 mins, if you don't do this you'll end up with the airbag light triggering.

Remove the electrical connection under the seat and then remove the seat.

It should take less than an hour in total, maybe a little more if you have to swap over the seat belt buckles.

I take it you're swapping a like for like seat, I.e both are electrical and/or heated.

Forgot to say both sets are manual and my car is non heated seats.

Its a simple swap then, you should be done within an hour. As you don't have electric seats, disconnect the battery before starting, by the time you've gone round all the bolts your 20 mins will almost be up. I found it easier to put the roof down as this gives much more room to remove the seats. Of course, you'll need to do this before disconnecting the battery.

You can take the missing seat belt from your old seats, but from memory you need a huge torx/socket to get it off.
