Replacing seat foam

I have a 2007 Z4 3.0i just recently purchased (upgraded from a 2000 Z3). When I dot it the seat foam on the drivers side had somewhat broken down. Is this repairable by the a independent upholsterer or does it need to go the dealer? Has anyone done this before?

The link above shows you exactly what you need to do. It shows how to replace the foam, unless we are not understanding you correctly.

Just apply the same principle to the base.

Look in BMW TIS for how to do it. In there is also a good guide how to do it.
