Replacing rear pads - do I need a piston tool?

So I've got a full new set of brakes to go on the car, however I can't seem to find any information on whether or not the rear brakes need a winding tool?
On VWs you have to wind the rear piston rather than push, is this the case on the E85?

Winding tool not needed, rears are the same process as fronts - although you might want to replace the handbrake shoes while you're in there.

You only have to push the pistons back as BMWs use a separate drum brake for the parking brake. A jacking tool will make it easier but you can probably do it with a pry bar.

I use a large G clamp to push brake pistons back in
Bit like this but an 8" one

Beware of the brake fluid overflowing from the master cylinder due to the displacement the pistons cause when they’re pushed back into the caliper (don’t ask me how i know this)
